In other news, Taylor Lautner has appparently put off plans to finish college - which is one of those stories that is just begging for someone to lament what a bad role model he is or something. If this was on the front page of The Huffington Post, some twi-moms would be getting indignant all over this. But why the hell would he ever go to college? He's going to walk away from Breaking Dawn 1 & 2 with 82 million fucking dollars! Taylor, don't ever go to college. I say that as both the recent recipient of a too-expensive degree and as the overseer of a blog almost entirely read by over-educated 20-somethings. Any kind of personal betterment you might gain from going to college is not worth the time investment alone. Read a lot of books. It's cheaper, not that it matters, and much more fun. Any parent who would rather their child aspire to go to college than make 82 million dollars should have their parenting card taken away.
Today's Twilight quote of the day comes from an article from The Atlantic (what?) in a kind of pseudo-review of Eclipse:
That's a statement I would characterize as "profoundly arguable" - a bit like comparing apples with 30 seconds of screen time to oranges with two hours of screen time - but I agree anyway, what the hell! I feel an immediate affinity with people who are Alice/Jasper people, and I feel no shame about that. So big ups to Alyssa Rosenberg (that's how they talk over at The Atlantic).
