Ashley Greene Continues To Pick Films Based On Shitty Titles

Oh dear. So Ashley Greene is rumored to be starring alongside Christopher Walken and Shirley MacLaine in a film produced by Bono and Wim Wenders. Quite the pedigree, right? Unfortunately it's called The Boom Boom Room. I wish I was kidding. Here's the plot synopsis from the Arclight Films site:

In a mystical and magical town in the California desert, once great Vaudeville stars, JIMMIE (Christopher Walken) and DIXIE (Shirley MacLaine) have long awaited the day the baby girl they were forced to give up will return to them.

When mysterious and beautiful ADELINE (Ashley Greene) appears she’s not the girl they were waiting for. But with her arrival their lives will be changed forever as a family searches for redemption, salvation and each other.

Set in a fairy tale world with a flamboyant dance club as its heartbeat, THE BOOM BOOM ROOM is a tale of miracles, love, and faith in all things good that brings hope to everyone who journeys into its magical world of wonderment.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhh. That sounds awful? I mean, sounding ridiculous is an inherent problem with plot synopses, but I'm not sure that's what this is. This doesn't even sound like, "Oh, maybe a decent director could pull that off." It sounds like a fucking guaranteed massacre. (Thank god Julie Taymor didn't follow Bono onto this project because this sounds like exactly the kind of thing she would really enjoy destroying, right?) I don't entirely know how Hollywood works, and maybe being in a movie with Christopher Walken is just an automatic good thing. I mean, that must be how it works, right? The cast members of Balls Of Fury are all huge now, right?

I have a nagging suspicion this could be an unwise career move.

I mean, I don't know about you, but I have never heard of Arclight Films, and browsing their back catalog doesn't ring bells so much as it sets off alarms. An adaptation of Macbeth starring SAM WORTHINGTON? Holy shit. (They did The Ten, so good on them for that. But otherwise there's nothing.) This is still very much a rumor, and maybe it isn't true. But if it is true, I'm going to be forced to conclude that Ashley Greene picks up a stack of scripts every few weeks and just picks the ones with the titles that make her laugh the most morbidly. LOL: Laughing Out Loud? The Apparition? This chick has a weird sense of humor.

Huh. Not the synopsis I was expecting from a movie titled The Boom Boom Room.

I know, it sounds promising right off the bat!

Horrendous plot synopses aside, that is probably the best film adaptation of Macbeth I've seen. (Sam Worthington is better in his native accent.)
