Abduction Trailer OR An Action Star Is Bourne

SO! This kind of looks cool! At first I was like, "Oh no," but then Taylor Lautner starts roundhouse kicking shit and I was like "OH YES." And then the title is on a GUN BARREL! BOOYAHAHAHA! I hope my read of this trailer is right, and that it's a good ol' fashioned 80's-style action romp. I mean, the corniness is deliberate, right? It HAS to be. The director's name (John Singleton) rang a bell, so I checked to see if he'd done an old Arnold flick or something, maybe a nod in the direction this would go. Turns out I knew him from Boys N The Hood, and uh, 2 Fast 2 Furious? The Shaft remake? Tough to know what that means. If by some crazy chance this movie is meant to be serious, well, um, uh-oh. What is wrong with all of the acting? Are these actors okay or are they sick?

I think I am correct though, and pending further review I hereby look forward to Abduction, or The Bourne Latchkey Kid, in theaters September 23rd.

Various other links for today:

"Robert Pattinson says Breaking Dawn cast couldn't wait to be done filming" (E! Uberblog): My favorite part of this article is the description of Regis & Kelly as "the popular, perky show." Anyway, turns out the end of the Twilight movies was very not with a bang but a whimper.

"Lykke Li on her new album, Twilight, and plans to haunt David Lynch" (Vulture): Lykke Li is a genuine weirdo and her new record is a lot of fun. It's weird to me that Lady Gaga is so popular and she is not. Anyway, here she mentions how they "made" her watch New Moon, and then the rest of what she says is kind of impenetrable.
