So The Oscars are this weekend! I'm not going to watch them! I truly don't give a fuck who wins what, except that I hope Rooney Mara wins best actress, and even that one I have some concerns about (I'm worried that people will chalk it up to the "pretty girl goes ugly, wins award" trope because of the minor body modifications Mara underwent for the role and also because she wasn't "pretty" in a conventional sense. And that perception would be counter to the spirit of the movie and the performance and the character in SO MANY ways, but I don't know if I am being crazy for thinking that or what). I wrote this thing earlier about the Oscar picks and voters being too self-consciously anti-American, which is on my Tumblr if you want to read something that barely makes any sense at all (speaking of feeling crazy). My Tumblr lately has become this place where I throw a lot of raw material, especially during business hours, F everyone's I, so be sure to check in there every once in a while! In part because posting over here may be light for the next few weeks. I really can't bring myself to write about Looking For Alaska at the moment, though I am sure that will change sooner or later. Later more likely than sooner. But next week will CERTAINLY bring some more Skins recaps and PROBABLY some more stuff about the Breaking Dawn DVD. And also we will need to discuss the Hunger Games trilogy soon, as I am currently reading Mockingjay! ANYWAY here is some recent stuff. Have a good weekend.
